Job Descriptions for the Town Administrative Positions

    TOWN CLERK
  1. Records and issues certified copies of Vital Record certificates and licenses.
  2. Issues marriage intentions and licenses.
  3. Sends completed or corrected Vital Statistic records to State.
  4. Issues dog and kennel licenses, updates database, reports and sends funds to State.
  5. Prepares the Municipal Dog Warrent by April 1st.
  6. Collects, reviews, and distributes municipal mail.
  7. Oversees Town Employees Insurance claims.
  8. Updates mailing addresses for the 911 Addressing System.
  9. Sells Garbage Stickers.
  10. Provides and tracks Land Use Permits and Applications.
  11. Files New Business declarations.
  12. Maintains town ordinances and policies.
  13. Prepares warrents for and records the minutes of all Town Meetings.
  14. Swears in all Town elected and appointed officials.
  15. Provides Registrar of Voters with death information for updating voters lists.
  16. Prepares and posts all Election and Referendum warrents.
  17. Sets up Polling Place and arranges for Election workers.
  18. Supervises Elections and Refrendums and reports results.
    TAX COLLECTOR
  1. Responsible for Property Tax Billing Process.
  2. Collects Property and Excise Taxes and updates tax records and databases.
  3. Processes 30 Day Notices and Tax Liens.
  4. Provides Tax Assessment information for public inquiries.
    TREASURER
  1. Maintains all municipal financial accounts.
  2. Reconciles municipal checking accounts.
  3. Disbursement of municipal payments through a lawful warrant.
  4. Provides receipt for municipal income.
  5. Submit Treasurer's Report for each Selectmen's Meeting.
  6. Completes IRS/MRS required paperwork. (1099s, 941s and W-2s)
  7. Manages all payroll records and reports.
  8. Sends bills and receives fees for dumpster tipping.
  9. Processes Property Tax Lien Discharges.
  10. Sends 30-45 Day Notice for possible foreclosure on unpaid Property Taxes.
    REGISTRAR OF VOTERS
  1. Registers eligible Voters.
  2. Updates and purges Voter Registration Lists.
  3. Provides Voter Registration Lists, when needed.
  4. Notifies a voter's last voting residence of new voting residence.
    FISH AND GAME LICENSING AGENT
  1. Issues hunting and fishing licenses.
  2. Registers recreational vehicles (Boats, ATVs, and Snowmobiles).
  3. Completes all reporting and sends monies to Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
    MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION AGENT
  1. Completes all vehicle registrations.
  2. Sends funds received and reports to Motor Vehicle Division.
    DEPUTY TOWN CLERK
